How To Date A Geek – Video Games
While most of our posts are directed at geeks, and people who are subject to geek behaviors and interests; this one is for the people who are dating, married to, or otherwise in some sort of serious relationship with a geek. Feel free to pass this along to them via the share buttons at the bottom of the post, it will help you in the long run.
So you’re dating a geek, or at least someone who enjoys video games to a certain degree so that you may call them a geek, or even a gamer. Hopefully, you also enjoy playing video games, or at least have some other sort of hobby that affords them the time they need to play, on a weekly basis. If you are not one of these lucky individuals, don’t worry, I have a few tips to help out that relationship before it becomes a problem.
They Aren’t Going to Stop Playing Video Games. They aren’t. It isn’t going to happen, and would you really want to date someone who just gave up on things they enjoyed because someone was trying to change them? Of course not, it would be like them asking you to stop watching old episodes of Dr. Who every night (other people do that, right?). No one likes a pushover.
Get Over It. Seriously. Your father probably played games, maybe cards or a round of golf. He always had to sneak off with his buddies on Sunday when the rest of your family went to church and showed up in the afternoon drunk and sun burnt. It’s not that bad, instead they just sit in front of the television (or computer) swearing, surrounded by empty energy drink cans.
Maybe You Should Just Leave They still have to wait for a healer to join the group before they even start the raid. Then it’s going to be a few hours. If they don’t get the drops they want, they may have to run through it again. Don’t worry, it’s not you, it’s them. Everyone will be happier this way. Maybe you can find someone who does origami in their free time. Or, whatever hobby you do that is so important that they can’t play video games for a couple of hours without you nagging them constantly.
