The Weekend Link Dump 02/18/12

by Jeremy

The case for the Walking Dead Season 2 Special Edition BluRay set.

We’ve searched the internet far and wide to bring you this geeky stuff: the Walking Dead Season 2 case, fractal art, creepy paper robots, a short story from the point-of-view of a lost space traveler, and a time-lapse video of the stars.

  • Just announced at the 2012 Toy Fair, Todd McFarlane Toys is making the Special Edition BluRay case for the 2nd Season of the Walking Dead. Guess what it looks like. via MTV Geek
  • What do you get when you use a five million volt electron accelerator on a large piece of acrylic? Fractal Sculptures. Be in awe!
  • Origami is a fun little hobby. I enjoy it. I can make a box, and a lotus blossom. Sometimes I can even manage a crane. These people are making functioning robots out of folded paper and air (there is a video of one of them in action). via Wired
  • A fun short story from an author you will be hearing a lot about in the near future. I’m not sure what we can give away yet. Just go read this short story. via Yahoo Voices!
  • If you still find yourself staring at the night sky, lost in the stars, you will enjoy this amazing time lapse video. The music’s not bad either.

We hope everyone is having a great weekend. If you liked, or horribly disliked anything here, let us know in the comment section, or on our Twitter page. Give us a follow while you’re at it.

Anyone Could Be Magic

by Doug

After working in an office for a few days, you think you know the people sitting next to you…right?! WRONG! Because the next thing you know the guy that acts all calm, collected and normal lets it slip that he is writing a book. And he’s not writing a book like I’m writing a book (purely to prove I can, that no one will EVER read, except my mom), OH NO! He’s being published!

Well that’s neat, but what is your “published” book about? ZOMBIES!? Are you kidding me?! How are we not best friends yet? Believe me when I say “You will hear more about this book in the near future.” But for now, I’m issuing a challenge:

Ask people what they’re into. Make new friends. And for the love of Buffy, if you see a fellow geek in your workplace, tell them about how awesome you are!

PEACE!
